Pond Pump Review ... Hozelock Fish Pond Pumps - rated at 120 - 1000 gallons

Hozelock Fish Pond Pumps ... Need a reliable pump for your garden or fish pond?  Then consider a Hozelock pump. Keep in mind that every fish pond needs a pump that runs 24/7 to be able to supply life-giving oxygen to your biofilter.  A biofilter is a living organism, and if it's deprived of oxygen, it will quickly die. And the water quality of your pond will quickly suffer, as will any fish living in it.

It is vital therefore to choose a good quality pond pump with at least a 2 year warranty. Another important consideration is the pump's power consumption, which will have an effect on your electric bill each month. Hozelock pond pumps all have 2 year guarantees, and they are very cost efficient to operate year round.

And be aware that most fish ponds will turn green in the summer months if you don't install an ultraviolet light (also known as a sterilizer, clarifier, or UVC) in your pond system. These UV filters kill the suspended algae that are responsible for green or murky brown water often seen in fish ponds.

Here are a few of the more popular Hozelock pond pumps:

  • Hozelock Cascade Pump - 120 gph pond pumps

  • Hozelock Prima XL Pump - 1000 gal pond pumps

  • Hozelock Titan Pump - 550 gal pond pumps

USA Waterfall Pump Selection Table ...

Don't be frightened by all the technical jargon around pond pumps. You only need two pieces of information to select the right garden fish pond waterfall pump ... and they are:

  • The vertical height of your waterfall inlet, as measured from the water surface of your pond (NOT bottom of pond) ... as measured in feet

  • The width of the water overflow point of your waterfall ... if your overflow is a series of smaller overflows, just add them all together to get width in inches
